SERIES SUMMARY: Book One
As a Holder’s daughter, Aspeth Honori knows the importance of magical artifacts . . . which is why it’s a disaster that her father has gambled all theirs away.
Now that her family is in danger of losing their hold—and their heads—if anyone finds out the truth, Aspeth decides to do something about it. She’ll join the Royal Artifactual Guild and the adventurers who explore ancient underground ruins to retrieve the coveted arcane items.
It’s a great plan—with one big problem. The guild won’t let her train because she’s a woman. Aspeth needs a chaperone of some kind.
The best way to get around this problem? Marry someone who will let her become an apprentice.
Who better than a surly guild member who requires a favor of his own? He’s a minotaur (it’s fine) who is her teacher (also fine) . . . and he’s about to go into rut (which is where it gets tricky). He also has no idea she’s a noble (oops), and he’ll want nothing to do with her if he discovers her real identity.
Now Aspeth just has to pass the guild tests, thwart a fortune hunter, and save her hold—oh, and survive a rut with her monstrous, horned husband, whom she might be falling in love with.
It’s time to dig deep. Literally.
REVIEW:
DEVOURED THIS BOOK. 🔥
Bull Moon Rising is the first book in The Royal Artifactual Guild Series and I CANNOT wait for the next one!!!
I absolutely, positively inhaled this book like it was the last chocolate bar in the world after a 3000 year apocalypse.
i freaking loved this book!
Ruby Dixon and I, well we go WAYY back. How far back you might ask?! Well, all the way back to Iced Planet Barbarians. That series AWAKENED me to things about myself I had not previously known. 😅
I love Ruby's writing, character development and the way that her books just pull me in starting on the first page.
Bull Moon Rising was no exception to this and dare I even say, I LOVED this series even more than IPB. Which is WILLDD because I was feral for that entire series (yes, i read every single one)
I'm a sucker for a good marriage of convenience and let me tell you the relationship between Aspeth (fmc) and Hawk was JUICY!
Aspeth is a bookish nerd, who is fed up with waiting for her father to figure out life and save her. Instead, she takes matters into her own hands!
Hawk was portrayed beautifully in my opinion. He was dominant but also not afraid to show his softer side to Aspeth.
I LOVED the story line and the plot. The Royal Artifactual Guild was so fun to read about and as a female veteran. I related heavily to the way that the women are treated when they join the guild.
I also really loved the supporting characters in this book and hope that we get stories for each one of them!!
SUCH a fun read, I had an INCREDIBLE time devouring this book and genuinely cannot stop thinking about it, days afterward.
I’m SOOO excited to read the next book in this series and I seriously hope that it’s a long series similar to IPB!!
It's SUCH a fun read and I highly recommend it!
