When professional hockey player Sig Gauthier’s car breaks down and his phone dies, he treks into a posh private country club to call a tow truck, where he encounters the alluring Chloe Clifford, the manic pixie dream girl who captivates him immediately with her sense of adventure and penchant for stealing champagne.
Sparks fly during a moonlight kiss and the enamored pair can’t wait to see each other again, but when Sig finally arrives to meet his dad’s new girlfriend over dinner, Chloe is confusingly also there. Turns out the girlfriend is Chloe’s mother. Oh, and they’re engaged.
Sig’s dream girl is his future stepsister.
Though the pair is now wary of being involved romantically, Chloe, a sheltered harp prodigy, yearns to escape her controlling mother. Sig promises to teach her the ins and outs of independence in Boston—but not inside his bedroom.
They both know there can never be more than friendship between a famous hockey player and his high-society, soon-to-be stepsister. But keeping their relationship platonic grows harder amid the developing family drama, especially knowing they were meant for so much more…
REVIEW:
Straight up kicking my feet and giggling while reading this book!
Dream Girl Drama is the 3 book in the Big Shots series, but it was the first book of this series i've read and it was easy to understand as a standalone.
I haven't read a TON of hockey romance in the past but bestie boo...
BUT I'm never going to say no to a spicy romance that ALSO makes me laugh out loud.
I LOVED the dynamic between Sig & Chloe. Tessa did a great job at keeping the story fun and light while also having the character navigate very real life situations.
OBSESSED with Chloe and the fact that she is a child prodigy of harp!! I've never read another book about a harp player! I genuinely enjoyed reading about her journey and I feel her story developed so beautifully.
The struggles with family for both Sig and Chloe was SO relatable. And I LOVED the way that they handled all the obstacles that were thrown their way.
Sig & Chloe prioritized building their friendship first which was so refreshing. This is a beautiful showcase of "if he wanted to, he would" lol
Had an absolute blast reading this book and definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a light book! It will leave you with that feel good vibe at the end!
Special thank you to Tessa Bailey, Avon Books and HarperCollins Publishing for gifting me with this digital ARC copy through Netgalley!
